Build settlements, roads, and villages by trading commodities from the land around you. Trade sheep and wood for a ship, bricks and wood for a road, build new settlements, and improve settlements into cities. Requires ownership of Catan Base Game to play.

6th Edition – Whats New & Compatibility
The main changes with the 6th Editions are the enhanced artwork, components and rulebook. The mechanics of the game remains the same and the 6th edition is backward compatible with the 5th edition. That's right! You can play any combination of 6th edition and 5th edition base games, expansions and 5-6 player extensions.

To play the Expansions you need the Base Game. You can also combine the different Expansions. To play the 5-6 player Extensions, you need to have its corresponding Expansion game as well as the Base Game.
